Khalq Youth Front (KYF) and Haqooq-e-Khalq Party (HKP) organized a candlelight vigil at Safma Auditorium in Lahore to express solidarity with Iran and condemn military strikes carried out by the United States and Israel.
Senior leaders of both organizations addressed the gathering, describing the strikes as part of a broader history of U.S. imperialist intervention in the Middle East and other parts of the world. Speakers argued that the current escalation should be understood within the context of decades of foreign intervention, war, and political destabilization in the region.
Participants also criticized voices that, in their view, were focusing on criticism of the Iranian state while Iran was facing external military aggression. The gathering emphasized solidarity against what organizers called imperialist attacks.
During the vigil, organizers called on the Government of Pakistan to withdraw from what they referred to as the “Board of Peace” and to adopt a clear anti-imperialist foreign policy independent of U.S. influence.
The event concluded with candles being lit in remembrance of those affected by the conflict and with renewed calls for regional solidarity and resistance to foreign intervention.
